Monica Cialona is an Italian-African singer-songwriter and composer based in New York. She grew up in Milan, Italy, cultivating her love for music since a very young age.
She moved to the US in 2010 to pursue her music studies and career, after receiving a scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in “Contemporary Writing and Production”.

While in Boston she did various performance and among the most important at the Boston Symphony Hall with the “Rhythm of the Universe” group; at the New England Conservatory with the Reverence Gospel Choirand at the Berklee Performance Center where one of her original song was chosen to be performed at the CWP/EPD Writer Showcase.

In 2013 she was accepted with the Steinhardt Scholarship Award in Songwriting to attend the New York University (NYU), and in 2015 she received a Master of Music Degree in “Music Theory and Composition with a concentration in Songwriting”. During her artistic career, she performed as a vocalist and lent her voice to several Italian musical TV Shows, and sang at important venues including the Blue Note in Milan. She also had the honor to perform as a background vocalist for the renowned Italian singer Andrea Bocelli; to work with Grammy-Award Winner Lisa Fischer; and to perform at the memorial concert in honor of Herb Reed, vocalist and founding member of the American group "The Platters".

She also sang in various Gospel Choirs and she had the honor to perform with the American singer/composer and eight times Grammy-nominated Richard Smallwood at the “Auditorium di Milano”.

Monica has also written for other artists, such as the winner of the 2014 season of the Italian "The Voice", Sister Cristina.

In same year she worked as an assistant producer at Sony ATV / EMI Music Studios in London, before returning to NY and graduating.Always in 2014 she was the first international artist to win the Songwriters Hall of Fame Scholar Award, a significant recognition of her work as a songwriter in the United States, and in 2018 she was a semi-finalistat the USA Songwriting Competition with her original song "Radiate".
